I wanted to thank you and to let you know about the rest of our (Ted, Dave and I) fishing trip after we took your Effective Nymphing class (Feb. 11th). Let me tell you, Effective would be an understatement for your Nymphing class. We had an awesome fishing trip the rest of the time we were there and we all agree it is directly related to the techniques we learned in your class. It has made a world of difference...from rarely catching a trout to killing them this weekend. In total we caught roughly 30-35 trout (2.5 days of fishing) between the 3 of us. We applied every technique you showed us and they all worked like a charm! Also validation came the last day of our trip, we were all catching trout and when we were leaving some fly fishermen approached us said “we saw you guys killing them over there, what are you doing?”.

Thanks for a memorable day on the Guadalupe. It was better than I hoped and believe me I was hoping for a lot. You are a consummate pro and not only did I catch fish but I learned some new things from you that will add to my fishing experience on every stream. Can't wait to try these techniques in the Catskills. The streamside lunch was perfect and the extra tips on spots to try in the future were greatly appreciated. Looking forward to my next chance to fish with you.

I want to thank you for such a great time last Wed. & Thurs.! It was a real pleasure fishing with you and learning about the Guadalupe fishing spots and your taking the extra time to fish with my son Kenny. He has told me fifteen times how much he enjoyed fishing with you and learning to fly fish. We have chunked fly line all over the backyard but he really felt like he got the hang of it with your help. We have shown our pictures to everybody we can find and told fish stories bigger than you can imagine. If you happen to have a picture of that huge trout I caught along River Rd., it will make even a better story.
You have a special talent for making folks feel comfortable about learning to fly fish and placing smiles on their faces in the beauty of the river. Keep it up, you've got a great life and a great style. We had a great time and look forward to coming back soon.

Also, my brother and I had a really good time fishing with you, it was definitely a trip to remember and worth every penny. I caught this sow right at sunset yesterday, it took a crystal bugger that I was drifting with a hares ear under it....It took about 20 minutes to land this fish, I have yet to see one that was so perfect---no scars or any contusions at all, I’m wondering if this fish had ever been caught before. It revived nicely after the photo ops. I’m guessing this fish went 21-22”, but it was the girth that amazed me.

Thanks again for yesterday. It was way above my expectations—what a great day. I’m still riding the high from that big fish that stripped off all my line on his runs. Wow. I know you’ve probably seen and done that hundreds and hundreds of times, but for me I will always remember that fish as well as the very first one I hooked up that got off. Truly a memorable day.

I thought I would write to let you know how much Roy and I enjoyed our trip on Sat. That was my second trip with you and both times was more than I had expected. Not only were both trips exceptional fishing days but you are a pleasure to fish with. It isn't often that I can find a guide that can not only put me on fish but is a good person to fish with. I thought the way you fished with Roy was wonderful. Roy is my friend, he is over 70 years old, and the only time he fishes, is once a year when he goes with me. I think he goes so I have some one to go with. I watch how you coached him and helped him. You helped him wade the river. It was both fun and instructive to be with you. Not only that but we both fished until we could fish no more. We not only caught a lot of fish but they were quality fish. Any time our average is 18 inches on over ten to fifteen fish the guide has a lot to do with the day. Thank You. It was a memory not soon forgotten.

I had a great time. Susan and Adam enjoyed the day, but I don’t think I have made either a devoted angler. You did a great job with all of us, though, and I really appreciate your efforts. I believe Adam will be leaving Austin this summer, so I don’t know when I will be back to the Guadalupe, but I hope to see you again, perhaps in Montana sometime. No need to send the bigger picture file, these are great and will do fine.

Thanks for the pictures. Ain't it the way of the world that the fish don't seem as big in the pictures as they do in our memories!!! I guess that means I'm a fisherman, because I've been telling people that the fish we caught were a heck of a lot bigger than the ones in these pictures!!! Thank you for showing the boys how to really fish wet flies.

I want to thank you again for a great fishing trip. Did any of the pictures come out? Our season starts April 1 up here and I am looking forward to using the techniques you taught me on N.Y. waters. My family had a great trip to San Antonio. The kids say it was the best trip they ever took. Perhaps I shall see you in Montana one of these days,
